Quantitative Literacy and Quantitative Confidence

Too often students claim to be 'bad at math' or have 'never understood statistics'. Like a language, a statistical ability is learned and developed through practice. I take a hands-on approach to support this development by providing opportunities for guided quantitative practice in the classes I teach. Working through real data examples gives students the exposure to the messy reality of ecological inference and practice understanding and applying techniques to relatable data to build their quantitative confidence.
